Hi, I'm Maria. I take pictures for party people.
where did it all begin?
Ever since I was small, I've loved telling stories of all kinds. I have always enjoyed writing, but as I got older, I found myself searching for a more sociable way of bringing my artistic visions to life. As a teenager I laid my hands on a second-hand camera and began taking photographs of my sister and friends. Before long, this camera came with me everywhere, and I had a plan in mind. I was going to become a photographer.
Though I set my heart on this career a long time ago, my route into photography was a bit of a winding road. Unable to compromise on my love of literature, I went to university for English - though I spent most of my time taking photographs, and not enough of it reading Chaucer. When three years were up, I knew it was time to put down my pen and pick up my camera in earnest.
Now I help other people tell their stories in the most colourful, lively way I know - and I'd love to tell yours for you too!

how would you describe your style?
A good party is like a good book. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end - but it's all the tiny moments in between that make the narrative come together. My biggest influence is definitely 80s and 90s dance floor photos. I love all things loud, glittery and care free!
I'd sum up my style as candid and genuine. Wherever I see joy, I come running.
